Albus lay on his side, staring at the clock that sat on his bedside table. He was pretty sure that most people on the eve of becoming an adult were excited. But he was scared, scared that he'd be alone. He knew he was being stupid, he'd still have his family, and his best friend, but he was still scared. He could feel all the responsibility crushing down on him already.

Albus thought back to the day he'd boarded the Hogwart's Express for the first time, and how he'd shared his fear that he might be sorted into Slytherin. He had been place in the house, but he hadn't been as scared after hearing his father's words.

However, he knew this wasn't the same thing. Turning seventeen, and being sorted into a house famous for producing dark wizards, were entirely different. That's why Al didn't tell anyone about this fear, he knew it was foolish.

But he was still scared as the clock read midnight.
